Madonna: Life Inspiring Art

Madonna: Life Inspiring Art

She may be a global icon, but singer, songwriter, and actress Madonna sounds like any other working mom when she talks about the elusive search for balance. “I’m not going to lie—it’s hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do,” she told The Sun. “Sometimes I cope with it very well, sometimes it’s a struggle.” Her life inspires her art: she’s said that the song “I Don’t Give A,” from her twelfth studio album MDNA, is about the life of a single mother. “It’s a challenge juggling everything—multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that.” When discussing her album, Rebel Heart, Madonna mentions that she continues to draw inspiration from her children and the things they say. The woman known for reinventing herself throughout her career is inspired by her kids to try new things in life too: “My kids get me to do a lot of things that I wouldn’t normally do,” she told Interview Magazine. “I surfed because my son kept bugging me. I ski because my kids kept bugging me.”
