Hi, I’m Julia, a married mother of two teenage boys. I currently live in New York state but grew up in Ohio. When I was 13, my father died, and I became the Kid of a Solo Mom. Shortly after I graduated from high school, I joined the Air Force. I spent eight years on active duty and eventually used my GI Bill to earn my degree in professional and technical communication. After having my boys and working several different jobs, I can truly say I have found a job in which I am making a difference. I work for a national organization that provides resources and support to people in need. There is a vast network of both private and government agencies available to people, but it can be confusing and overwhelming and often people aren’t sure where to start. I hope to guide you through this network, and maybe you can teach me some things along the way. People often know about local resources that are incredibly helpful—let me know!!
