I help individuals, couples, and families bring about positive change in their lives. I have written about mental health, trauma, and sexual assault for the Washington Post, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, To Write Love on Her Arms, and The Good Men Project. Before remarrying, I was a Solo Mom to toddler twins and two not-much-older singletons. I am also the child of a Solo Mom. Before I became a writer, I was a Latin teacher—dead languages are my secret passion. I’m also a fitness fanatic and a former collegiate swimmer. I try to live an active lifestyle and model healthy habits for my four children and two stepchildren. Speaking of dead languages, I am a firm believer in mens sana in corpore sano (a sound mind in a sound body)—wellness is hard to compartmentalize; it is a whole-person process.
