ReHire Colorado is a transitional employment program created by the Colorado Legislature in July of 2013, and administered through the Colorado Department of Human Services. Transitional employment combines wage-paid work, job skills training, and supportive services to help individuals facing barriers to employment succeed in the workforce.

Goodwill® Industries of Colorado Springs is now offering complimentary Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) courses to its welfare-to-work clients. In an effort to place Goodwill clients on a path to self-sufficiency through a healthcare career, Goodwill has partnered with Centennial Nurse Aide Training Program to create the CNA program. The eight-week course includes class and lab instruction, hands-on clinical training and experience at Goodwill day programs serving individuals with special needs. The first class of nine students was selected from 90 applicants through an arduous pre-screening to ensure their success. Graduation from the program, State of Colorado board certification and job placement with healthcare providers is planned for September.
