Unity Mississippi

Unity Mississippi is a resource organization that seeks to serve as a catalyst for statewide education, interaction, entertainment, community growth, visibility and awareness on behalf of the state's LGBTQ population. The organization promotes tolerance and acceptance of sexual minorities, increases public awareness of minority-related concerns, health-related concerns (specifically HIV/AIDS and substance abuse) and works to bridge the gap between the heterosexual and LGBT communities of the State of Mississippi.

The Queer Nebraska Youth Networks


This is a youth-focused, peer-led group aimed at providing social activities and connections to resources and opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth in Nebraska ages 15-24.

This is a statewide organization that promotes social justice and the advancement of LGBTQ equality. It members are gay and straight from all walks of life.

The Dandelion Project


This organization seeks to empower LGBTQ people and to enlighten and educate the public on behalf of the LGBTQ community. Their "We Are Campaign" was created to challenge society's labels and perceptions of the LGBTQ+ community. They have a 24-hour helpline: 601-283-8090. They also sell t-shirts on their online shop.

Jeanette Rankin Peace Center

This organization devotes a page on its website to gay rights resources in Montana.

LikeMe Llighthouse


This is a community hub for resources, social gatherings, and educational speakers. They host a welcome center, information resources, a computer center, a community events calendar, educational meetings, social events, and office and meeting space.

GLBT Resource Center of Michiana


The center offer a safe and nurturing environment for those who face gender identity issues. They are a primary voice in their community or raising awareness of the challenges and contributions of LGBT people in Michiana. They celebrate and cultivate creativity, diversity, health and well-being, and provide diverse learning opportunities and resources to enhance the lives of LGBTQ people. The center hosts groups for polyamorous people, men, women, teens, and transgender individuals. is an online resource connecting the LGBTQ community and allies to community events and organizations, entertainment, local and national news, and online public fora for discussion on selected topics. The site offers a "gay Indiana" map and details on Pride celebrations.

Louisiana Queer Conference

The LQC provides leadership development, networking opportunities, and social support for LGBTQ college students and their allies in Louisiana. The conference provides an annual venue for individuals to discuss ideas and collaborate on projects while building a statewide network to advance the LGBTQ movement.

LGBT+ Archives Project of Louisiana


This projects collects, archives, and preserves LGBT+ historical materials; provides an information directory of archival resources where such materials may be deposited or accessed for research and study; maintains a list of locations of archived GBT+ materials, and supports their preservation and archival work by raising financial resources. The site offers a list of locations where such archives are housed, a bibliography, a blog, and a Facebook group link.

LGBT Community Center of New Orleans

The center provides resources and advocacy that foster community development and social and economic justice efforts on behalf of LGBTQ people. This center offers information on educational, recreational, and social opportunities. It has a library and a resource directory open to submissions.

This page is home to a coalition of five organizations that work for LGBTQ equality in Kentucky.

Kentucky Equality Federation


This is a grassroots organization for LGBDTQI (and intersex) civil rights and advocacy, seeking social and political equality. They lead efforts for fairness and equality at the state level. The site provides action alerts, a blog, and press releases. There is also a place on the website to file a complaint and view discrimination reports.

Gay and Lesbian Services Organization (GLSO)


The organization connects members to social events around Lexington, and hosts the online version of LinQ Magazine, and offers programming for Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) youth, a discussion group for LGBTQ people undergoing life challenges and transitions, and a seniors group.

Equality Kansas


Formerly the Kansas Equality Coalition, Equality Kansas's formed as a chapter-based grassroots organization. Its mission is to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They work on these goals through education, public policy advocacy, and political action. They have chapters in the Central Plains, Flint Hills, Hutchinson, Lawrence-Douglas Count, Metro Kansas City, North Central, Northwest, South Central, Southeast, Southwest, and Topeka.

The Center of Wichita

The center focuses on securing resources and educational opportunities for Wichita's LGBTQA youth. It provides a central meeting space for organizations and people interested in LGBTQ awareness. It's Get Connected program serves teens aged 13-18. There is a "helpful numbers" page on the site.

OneIowa: Equality for LGBT Iowans


This organization works for LGBTQ rights within the judicial system. It engages on other issues, including: AIDS and HIV in Iowa; safe communities for LGBTQ youth, dialogue between the police and LGBTQ community; addressing the needs and concerns of Iowa's aging and elder LGBT populations, promoting health and wellness, defending marriage equality through grassroots education; improving access to resources for transgender Iowans; and engaging in civil dialogue around LGBT equality. Its website has an events page.
