San Diego Regional Center Respite - In-Home respite is care provided in the child's home by YMCA staff to care for children with developmental disabilities. Out-of-Home respite is care provided outside of the child's home in a licensed child care facility. Care may be provided either in a licensed child care center or in a licensed family child care home. Family child care homes are run by individuals who are licensed by the state to have a child care business in their home.

Special Kids Special Families is a Colorado non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1998 to provide community support services to families who are raising youth and caring for adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. Our organization noted the lack of community services for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Respite care, specialized foster care, adult day programs, and family preservation services have evolved from this need.

Caring for children with special needs is often complex, and Delaware Family Voices and the Family to Family Health Information Center is in the unique position to help. Like you, we are parents of children and young adults with physical, developmental and mental health challenges, and we have firsthand experience navigating the maze of health care services and programs in our state. We help families of children with special needs become informed, experienced, and self-sufficient advocates for their children and themselves. There is no charge for the services we provide. We are funded through federal grants.
