OneIowa: Equality for LGBT Iowans

This organization works for LGBTQ rights within the judicial system. It engages on other issues, including: AIDS and HIV in Iowa; safe communities for LGBTQ youth, dialogue between the police and LGBTQ community; addressing the needs and concerns of Iowa's aging and elder LGBT populations, promoting health and wellness, defending marriage equality through grassroots education; improving access to resources for transgender Iowans; and engaging in civil dialogue around LGBT equality. Formerly the Kansas Equality Coalition, Equality Kansas's formed as a chapter-based grassroots organization. Its mission is to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They work on these goals through education, public policy advocacy, and political action. They have chapters in the Central Plains, Flint Hills, Hutchinson, Lawrence-Douglas Count, Metro Kansas City, North Central, Northwest, South Central, Southeast, Southwest, and Topeka.
